What is AmeriCorps?

AmeriCorps provides opportunities for 75,000 Americans each year to give intensive service to their communities and country. In exchange for a year of full-time service, members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award that can be used to pay for college or graduate school, or to pay back qualified loans. Since 1994, more than 980,000 Americans have given 1.3 billion hours of service through AmeriCorps.

What You’ll Do:

The ReNEW AmeriCorps program strives to provide passionate and dedicated members with the opportunity to assist each campus in supporting and maximizing the school improvement process.

As a ReNEW AmeriCorps tutor, you will be placed in one of our six schools. In July, you will attend a series of professional development workshops to hone and expand your skills as an academic interventionist in mathematics and/or literacy. Each AmeriCorps member will collaborate with school leaders and teachers to determine which students need academic intervention and in which subjects and skills. Members will then begin to provide small group intervention to students.

Service Length: Benefits:

Must serve a minimum of 1700 hours Health & Child Care Coverage
